The Radio Poets sound fuses these many different influences into a sound that is thunderous yet melodic. Punk Rock, Classic Rock, Prog Rock, Grunge Rock, and Schoolhouse Rock all meet in their concrete block band palace, which exists as both a refrigerator and a brick oven depending on the seasons.
About Us
Evolving several times over – more “survival of the species” than “survival of the fittest” – Radio Poets is centered on Jacksonville’s godfather of punk, Thommy Berlin (Stevie Stiletto and the Switchblades, Radio Berlin). A veritable Dr. Moreau of guitars (you gotta see and hear the Frankentele), Thommy has assembled not just a band but a brotherhood. As singer/songwriter/guitarist of the band, much of the thunderous, ear-splitting roar – shaking music venues to their core – spews forth from him.
N8K9 (Nathen Eckenrode) also supplies his unique songwriting and immense musical talent. As an innovative multi-instrumentalist, N8K9 adds a unique and multi-dimensional range of sounds from keyboards, guitars, trumpets, computers, and vocals.
The rhythm section comprises Orange Park High School grads Todd Snyder on bass and Peter Mason on drums. Todd’s punk influenced bass lines coupled with Peter’s “Thunder Drums”, provide Radio Poets a bottom end bigger than the Venus of Willendorf.
